About the mountain
The Ski Area to Discover. Mont Castor is located on the Canadian Forces Base in Valcartier, 15 minutes from Québec City and the bridges. You can reach Mont Castor by taking the Henri IV north autoroute (573 north) or Valcartier Boulevard north (371 north). The first trails on the Mont Castor were made in the 50’s. Today, open to the public, the ski center offers many services for surfers and skiers to enjoy. We also have great conditions for cross-country skiing. The main ski lodge has information services, a ticket booth, rental and repair shop, locker room, cafeteria, reception hall and bars, all staffed by employees who aim to please. Mont Castor has a vertical drop of 185 metres with 18 trails, the longest run being 1,600 metres! Snowboard enthusiasts have access to the entire hill and to a new 16,440 square meter snowpark. With an annual average snowfall of 3.5 meters, this is a mountain to discover. The ski school offers classes for every level, beginner through expert. Our 35 certified instructors will help you choose the right training and improvement program. Our children’s pavilion, with devoted care givers, is a perfect place to leave your little ones to learn to appreciate the joys of winter. Come experience the joys of winter.
